Kim McAtee wrote down a goal many years ago at a Buffini & Company MasterMind event that she would like to serve on the Board of Directors for a non-profit organization that made a significant positive impact on her community.
To support that goal, she decided she needed an MBA and enrolled in the Global Executive MBA program. “It was the power of focus that allowed me to work and go to school at the same time. I also flexed my “no” muscle a lot,” remembers Kim. “The scheduling was the most amazing part of the whole Buffini & Company program, I was able to have a great year in real estate while also taking on an intense MBA program.”
Kim’s MBA program included two weeks in Indonesia and Thailand where she worked for a nonprofit organization helping children get off the streets and into school. It also included trips to Chile and Peru. “I was able to have my best year ever in real estate, pay for these trips in cash, and still budget to pay off all my student loans over the next 18 months.”
And that goal she wrote down at MasterMind to serve on a non-profit Board of Directors organization?
Kim has now served on not one but two non-profit Boards, including one that provides intensive literacy intervention for underserved children in high-risk areas!
